Every time I mention EVs the hot rodding world loses their minds. Well, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much. Meanwhile if I told someone that this 1949 Mercury was still powered by the flathead 6 cylinder and took them for a ride they would love it. If I let them drive it and they felt the power, they would love it and swoon over the original 6 being able to make it move like that. But if for any part of the drive they thought it was electric they would find fault with it. I say it is a bitchin car, regardless of what is under the hood. Cause in my Chevrolet loving world any Ford engine would be the wrong engine anyway.
Fight me.
Phil commented on the video saying, “Jay and Jonathan just shot the breeze cruising all over the place in this stunningly beautifully built car. It runs so silent and comfortable, they never had to raise their voices once. And that low mechanical rumble actually fits the car’s character.
NOBODY will EVER see it coming in it’s true form. I LOVE that. The interior work is simply stunning. Because it works together and nothing sticks out as odd. The entire car has a fifties hot rod vibe to it. It’s perfect.”

Jonathan Ward is back with his latest Derelict, and this one is fully electric but still wonderfully retro.
