Coker Tire Cruise-In 2018: A Walk Through And Around The Museum!

Coker Tire Cruise-In 2018: A Walk Through And Around The Museum!

It wasn’t a secret that the weather was going to play hell with the Coker Tire Cruise-In on Saturday, but if any of the owners of the vehicles that rolled up to the show were concerned, they weren’t showing it. While I was getting my bearings and heading straight to the Coker Tire museum for a walk-through, cars just kept pouring in from every angle of the area that Chattanooga’s finest were monitoring. An entire section of the industrial district around Coker Tire is closed off, leaving the Cruise-in as a full-on parking show along streets, in front of shops and in the large parking lot outside of Finley Stadium. Blower drives, big blocks and one exceptional diesel that you’ll see later on this week combined with the noise of thousands of show-goers to make a wonderful din. At this point in the morning, the raw sunshine of the sunrise had started to be taken over by high clouds but there was still no real winds and no close threat of rain.  We made a quick lap through the museum, checking out the wall of motorcycles and the neat old busses before returning to the lots outside to check out more incoming cars…We will continue on throughout the week, but for now click on a photo below to see more from the Cruise-In!
