(Jacob Marshall) – The 2016 Car Craft Summer Nationals is a three day event and while sprinting through the fairgrounds snapping photos at full speed, I understood why. With drifting, an autocross, a burnout contest, dyno challenges and more, it’s literally impossible to see the entirety of what this event has to offer in one day. The Wisconsin State fairgrounds looked like a small town that had been overrun with gearheads. While all the activities were captivating, the car show itself was a special treat, with unique and rare cars everywhere you looked. Nostalgia pro stock cars with hood scoops looming high in the air, sat next to bagged and lowered Studebakers and mud trucks. Any hotrodder, no matter how bizzare their automotive fetish, could find something of interest.
Particularly cool were the 70’s and 80’s street machines present. Wild graphics were period perfect, and some of the cars had enough chrome to be seen from space. Equally impressive were the modern builds; usually slammed on big rims, and more than likely utilizing at least one form of forced induction. The variety and quality of builds was truly amazing. The only thing better than walking around taking in the sights and sounds, is jumping in your car and cruising the fairgrounds! But if you didn’t get a chance to head up to Milwaukee yourself, check out this gallery and see what you missed!
I would have went to the show just to see the Pro Stocks. Hope someone in the southeast starts a nostalgia Pro Stock circuit.
