(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) –  55-57 Chevrolets have been popular since the first one rolled off the assembly line.  Their popularity is right at the top with ’32 Fords and 60s muscle cars.  The movement has gotten big enough that now they have their own yearly event down at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, KY.

In here you will find all varieties of the breed except a convertible.  I don’t know what happened there, but I went back and searched our extensive image files from this event and didn’t find a single example.  Either we missed them all or there just weren’t many there.  Regardless, we’ve filled this group with hardtops, sedans, nomads, and wagons for your enjoyment.  There are some for all tastes so if you are into full customs, straight axles, street machines, or restored examples then you will find it here.  I’m pretty fond of the recreated Yoo-Hoo-Too delivery.  Also dig those minus the front bumper which seems to give these cars a ‘take no prisoners’ attitude.
