One of the most interesting parts of being at Bonneville. is seeing the place come to life over the course of the day. You literally experience the full range of mother nature’s beauty and fury. From the cool mornings to the blazing hot afternoons the salt flats are unlike any other place that motorsports are held in the world. Bonneville Speed Week 2016 followed the same mold as the previous 67 running of the event.
Racers enter the property in the pre-dawn hours. They work on their equipment until the sun comes up, and then they get onto the race track to take their best shot. Bonneville Speed Week is less a race and more of a collection of brilliant people all trying to prove their own theories about the correct way to do something. Remember, every car, truck, or motorcycle in the place has the same goal and that is to go as fast as possible through the course. No matter if your ride is a 50cc bike or a 500ci streamliner. This is what it is all about.
Come with us on the journey of a day at Bonneville. From darkness, to sunrise, to the excitement of full bore racing.
It’s certainly better than seeing Wor Lass arise from the darkness!
Hair allover the shop, dentures in a glass by the bed and a smoker’s cough that sounds like a Top Fuel car trying to start….
Very cool place to be. Wish I could have made it this year. Look out for my friend André\’s 53 Stude\’ red and white, no. 9304, from Canada attempt to go 242+ record run!
