Yesterday we showed you the awesome twin turbo Oldsmobile that the guys at DMC are updating and improving for its owner so he can really lay the lumber to it this Spring. That certainly isn’t the only project in the shop as the guys are really jamming on a bunch of cars for owners who are starting to get itchy for racing season. Two of the more well known projects in the shop are Paul Major’s wild Corvette which the gang is sprucing up and tweaking after its fire last season and the Fox Mustang of Tim Meagher that will compete on the X275 class for the 2013 season. Rumor has it that Tim will also put a larger turbo on the car and run Street Outlaw or Outlaw Drag Radial at points during the year.

Major’s car is the first one you will see in the gallery and believe it or not, that started life as a real production line Corvette. You can see the huge frame rails at the front of the car and they run all the way through the rear. There have obviously been some subtle changes made and there is no longer any room in the trunk for a golf bag. This is the car that suffered a fire during a qualifying pass at the Shakedown Nationals in October 2012. DMC is doing the body work necessary to fix the car, new tube has been added to replace what was bent, and the cage in the driver’s area has been reworked to give Major a little more room and a more comfortable driving position.

Meagher’s Mustang is coming along quickly as well and the guys hope to have it buttoned up and on the dyno so Tim can get some testing in before the NMCA season opener in Florida in just a couple short weeks. The engine has been fired up and largely the remaining work is contained to final assembly stuff. Not to say that it isn’t important, but the heavy lifting of actually constructing the car has been completed. Meagher was an NMCA champ in 2006 and has his sights set on using that 440ci monster in the front of the car to out run competitors in X275 and a couple of other classes if time and schedule permit.
