(Photos and words by Mike Brooks) – While I’m still waiting for the weather to break here in western New York, I took the chance to head to Hamburg, NY to drop in on the 21st annual Cavacade of Cars show at the Erie County Fairgrounds. This show is definitely on the annual “to do” list for myself and fellow Bangshifter Jose Ferrer as we’ve been here for almost all 21 installments of this event.
Inside the show we saw a HUGE assortment of show cars, race cars, custom bikes, gassers, muscle cars, and traditional rods. Adjacent to the show was the Old S’cool Roundup which featured some hardcore rods, rat rods, sleds, pinup girls, and Rockabilly music from the Blue Ribbon Bastards. The show was packed with spectators as well as alot of local Rodders and racers getting a sneak-peek at what’s gonna be hitting the streets and strips in the Buffalo area once we are all released from old man winter’s cold grasp.
(Suck it Polar Vortex! Thanks Mike and Jose for providing proof that hot rodders have not all been reduced to human icicles up here. Lots of neat stuff in this gallery for sure!)
Ya keep taking that boy to car shows and all he just might get cursed with being a car junkie. 🙂
Great stuff…The only good thing about winter in the northeast, indoor cars shows.
You got that right Joe.. It’s not as fun as going to cruises and races and such, but I’ll take it. Who’s going to Detroit this weekend? It’d be cool to meet some more bangshifters at the autorama.
That boy is my 4 year old nephew. He was born with octane in his blood. He loves coming to car shows with me. My old man started taking me to car shows and swap meets when I was still in a stroller. That’s how it all started for me. You gotta bring these kids up right or they might turn into ricers….
Photos are great but the show is the Cavalcade of Cars, Cavalcade of Customs is and ISCA licensed name of some of their shows. Thanks for the coverage, you guys always do a great job.
