(Photos by Bob Chiluk) – For the 11th year, mini-bike owners, fans, and enthusiasts have gathered in Ann Arbor for the Old School Mini-Bike Show and Swap Meet. This year we sent our intrepid Illinois based shooter Bob Chiluk into the fray and he reported back that the gathering of the mini-bikes was the most impressive that he had ever seen. That is really saying something because Bob has been there and done that! The photos below really tell and awesome story and they show the sheer variety of equipment that was part of the ever-expanding event. From the typical makes and models that you expect to the stuff that you have never seen or heard of before, this show really had something for anyone who loves old mini-bikes.
There’s a ton of passion for these things across the country and there are shows popping up left, right, and center now. We’d venture to say that this Ann Arbor affair is one of the earliest and longest running of this type with more than a decade under its belt now. The only thing Bob complained about was not being able to take a couple dozen of these things home with him in the back of his truck. Honestly there’s so much coolness here we know you are going to love it.
Wow, that’s a lot of kool mini bikes! I’d like to have been there. Thanks for showing the pictures.
Had a Bonanza (saw several frames in the pictures), really fond memories of mine (in the 60s), 3 1/5 hp(?) tecumsah powered
While ours is not “vintage” it sure is a blast. 212cc 6.5hp….it’s limited by gearing and governor and it still flies. I love these old bikes…great gallery…
As an ex (full-size) biker I think you must either be a bit low on input or have accepted a bribe to show pictures of these mosquitoes of the street. Now pass me my can of Black Flag…..
