(Photos by Bob Chiluk) – Well we have run out of Bob Chiluk photo-mojo from the 2017 Goodguys 20th PPG Nationals in Columbus, Ohio. This show and the others we have been featuring recently make us think about some stuff. They make us think about the time and place we’re living in now when it comes to hot rodding. We know that guys like to hark back to the era of their own childhood as being the peak of the whole deal but it is really tough at this point to quietly go along with that.

We’re not disputing that those were great days but today on any given weekend across this country there’s about 100 massive shows going on, hundreds of drag races, road races, autocrosses, mud bogs, tractor pulls, and other types of gearhead entertainment as well. Just take this ONE SHOW for example. Nothing of this magnitude existed 30 years ago, nothing. Yes, there were cool shows and events but none of them were of this size, scope, and diversity.

Fond memories are fond memories and we’d never take a swipe at anyone’s happiness but we’re in the golden age now people and these photos are proof.
