Georg Noor sent us a note with the link to this video in it and we know you’ll love it like we did because it combines the three essential elements of cool. Element one is a neat car, which is in fact Georg’s own Valiant drag machine. Element two is a cool engine which is a 10,000 RPM screaming Dodge R5P7 NASCAR engine which powers this little beast. Element three is a cool location which is an airport drag strip that gives Noor a real handful while trying to charge down it. This is a mid 9-second car and it looks like a lot of fun!

We pick the video up at the burnout and the first thing you need to do is crank the speakers to 11 and then concentrate on the tach needle. Let’s just say that Georg does not fear the rev counter at all. He bends that baby right on over and this is only the burnout! The car leaves hard and then you can hear it trying to spin the tires as it heads down the track and Noor does a lot of steering to keep it in his lane (which is pretty flipping wide because this is a runway after all). The car sounds healthy and strong all the way down the course and ultimately Noor seems to get passed on the top end by a really nasty looking door slammer with a trio of ‘chutes trailing behind it.

We’re huge fans of the more rustic side of the sport and the fact that these racers have turned a runway into their strip in the finest fashion of early American hot rodders is great. You don’t need a palace to race at, you just need a place and these people are making a great use of the place that they have. Hey, there are a decent amount of spectators packed into the stands as well.

Here’s the kicker. This video comes from the country of Estonia. According to our friends at the TerraTracks Global Authority there are six active drag racing sites in Estonia (how many in California, again?!) and the BHRA you see on the local below the tree stands of the Baltic Hot Rod Association which was apparently sanctioning this race as part of  the Estonia Drag Racing Series. How cool is that?!
