Oh, we forgot to mention that it is a four door as well! How ’bout dem apples?! The 1969 Valaint Pacer looks a lot like a 1969 Dart but with a slightly different front end. It looks like this car originally came with the vaunted Chrysler “Hemi Six” that was one of the best engines if the Aussie muscle car era but that has since been ditched for a 340 which has been stroked to 380 ci and force fed with a Borg Warner S480 turbo. This combo, at a mere 8psi of boost shoves the car into the 9.80s during the course of this video. The thing looks like it runs nice and straight with no drama and there’s LOST more left here with the boost level so low right now. The engine has a Callies crank, we’re not sure of the heads (our guess is W-9s), and it runs on pump gas. The transmission is a Powerglide and there’s a nice but not huge set of slicks on the back. The whole care is insanely nice and we dig the fact that the dude painted the engine orange because we’re pretty sure that was the color of the sixer that was in here to start with. This is a really, really nice car and the Weld wheels look nice and tidy on the corners as well.
You’ll see the car make a bunch of runs in this video with the quickest being a 9.87. Being that it is equipped with license plates and all we’re reasonably sure that this is a street legal car that ees road miles, which makes the whole thing even better. The last piece of hard info we have on the car is that the engine is built off of a Mopar Performance R3 cast iron block. That beefy piece is a great foundation for the build and even further evidence that when the boost gets wicked up, this is car is going to be even faster than it is.
