2014 NHRA Sonoma Nationals: The Lost Professional Category Photos

2014 NHRA Sonoma Nationals: The Lost Professional Category Photos

(Photos by Mike and Jeff Burghardt) – Sounds mysterious, right? The lost photos? Ohhhhhh. Sadly, it isn’t all that mysterious. See, my computer desktop at any given time looks like a folder factory exploded and spread itself out clear across the thing. We have stuff coming in from all over the country and from multitudes of contributors, two of which are Jeff and Mike Burghardt. These guys are extremely talented California based shooters and they sent us great stuff from the NHRA Sonoma Nationals during the famed “western swing” part of the season. We ran their sportsman photos and then I botched up royally, failing to showcase their bad assery with the professional category photos that they shot.

Seeing that the 2014 Chevrolet Performance NHRA US Nationals begin with sportsman qualifying tomorrow, it seemed like a great time to bust these sweet, sweet photos out and show them to you now. That’ll get your drag race juices flowing and you’ll be ready to rock and roll for the various showdowns, shootouts, and cool stuff that’s going to happen in Indy all week long.

The professional category winners were as follows:

Khalid alBalooshi Top Fuel
Courtney Force Funny Car
Jason Line Pro Stock
Eddie Krawiec Pro Stock Motorcycle

Coming into Indy, all of these drivers are in good position to get off on the right foot for the NHRA Countdown which ratchets up the pressure at each ensuing race for the championship contenders. For now, enjoy these fantastic photos and accept my apology for being asleep on the switch in terms of getting them out to you in a timely fashion. Jeff and Mike are awesome and their work speaks for itself!
