2017 NHRA Dutch Classic Coverge: Our Last Blast Of Photos Is A Mixed Bag Of Classes!

(Words and photos by Joe Grippo) – The Pennsylvania Dutch Classic is sort of regarded as a showcase for the Stock and Super Stock classes but all the other NHRA Sportsman classes are there vying for a spot in the Maple Grove Raceway winners circle. Some of the closest racing was seen in the dot 90 categories of Super Street, Super Gas and Super Comp. While not everyone’s drag racing cup of tea, these drivers are winning rounds with razor thin packages with amazing frequency. Very impressive if you know what you are looking at.

Top Dragster and Top Sportsman are essentially insanely fast bracket cars that can be .00 and take .00 at sub 7 second et’s and at over 200+ mph and most are car show quality with plated, polished and custom painted accoutrements everywhere. Competition Eliminator was also contested with a short field, World Champ Doug Doll continued his winning ways by notching the win in his F/DA. The Division Open Series also runs some other Index classes like 8.50, 10.00 and 12.50 for street style door cars. Good Stuff. Check out the variety in these photos –
