(Words and photos by Joe Grippo) – We are back with part wo of our report from the 2017 USA-1 DragFest held at 1989 NHRA Funny Car World Champion Bruce Larson’s Stoney Creek Barn near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. DragFest is an end of year gearhead get together where hot rodders and drag racers can bench race one last time before retreating to their warm homes and garages and wait for the spring thaw. A bonus at this deal is that most of them bring their rides to the party. Surrounding the barn was a plethora of Rods, Muscle cars and Street Machines. Let’s take a walk through the gallery.
All manner of cool iron was represented. A few caught my camera’s extended attention. That little blue deuce roadster looked like it drove out of a 1958 Rodding and Restyling magazine, from the sweet nerf bars to the Fenton accessories all over the early small block Chevy. The channeled body and un-chopped windshield screamed east coast hot rodding. Total period correct perfection. Speaking of which, check out that white GTO with the tunnel ram poking through the hood! This time warp is owned by my friend Lisa Rusterholz and her hubby out of New Jersey. Period correct details abound on this killer ‘70’s style street machine, ladder bars, chrome roll bar, velocity stacks high up over the twin Holley’s and of course the wide-ass Cragar SS’s hanging out of the wheel wells. Yes, please!
Lots of other good stuff was there too, so have a scroll through the photos and pick your faves…let us know in the comments.
The rose color model A pickup with the nail head does it for me.
Bruce Larson’s personal pick-up!
sbc with 3×2 and fenton valve covers? cast iron dual dump’s exhaust manifolds look to be fentons also?????? some rare parts
The un-chopped ’50 Merc is almost to die for, too.
I’m liking the black AAR ‘Cuda. Have never seen a 6 pack Hemi before. An adequate replacement for the 340.
