Boosted Beast of Burden: This 300ci Ford Inline Six Makes More Than 500 Force Fed Horsepower

A while back the guys at Engine Power got their mitts on a nearly dead 300ci Ford inline six. The thing made 88hp on the dyno as it sat when delivered and over the course of time though bolting on parts and then internally upgrading the engine, it was making pretty awesome power. Like nearly 300hp naturally aspirated. Lots of guys would have stopped there and figured that the job was done.

The good thing is that fans of the show had been clamoring for months to see this engine boosted and the video below is all about the process of adding a Turbonetics turbocharger along with a Holley Sniper EFI to see what this former industrial engine is really capable of. To say that we (and seemingly everyone else) were completely blown away with the power generated here is an understatement.

The Ford 300 never made its reputation as a fire breathing performance engine. Instead it made the reputation as one of the toughest and most durable engines ever built. Hell, who does not remember the sound of a UPS driver banging through the gears in an inliner powered Package Car back in the day.

Now we’re guessing the audience will want to see this mill stuff into a Comet and at the drags! How great a build.

Press play to see this once near dead Ford 300 inliner making 500+ horsepower

balance the rotating assembly with a better set of rods ,,port & o-ring the head head & use studs … easily get to 600 hp

Something I’ve been curious about with this engine platform for years. These guys are just scratching the surface, too.
