This Angry Little Turbocharged VW Engine Is The Hot Ticket To Make Your Beetle Fly

The enduring dedication and obsession that VW fans have for making horsepower out of an engine platform that was initially designed to make 36hp is awesome. It speaks to the nature of hot rodding and how people can always find ways to make things better far more than half a century after a technological base was introduced. Take this little meanie for example. You are looking at a bad ass little turbocharged VW four banger. The engine has a raft of killer parts, fuel injection, and a small single turbocharger. No, this is not some record breaking engine, but maybe that makes it even more impressive.

Making between 300 and 400hp depending on the boost levels that are requested from the turbocharger, can you imagine how fun this engine would be in a little Beetle?! We know that guys have been supercharging, turbocharging, and building these engines for generations but at just over 2.3 liters, how can you not be impressed with those power levels, especially in an engine that the builders say can be street driven on the daily.

A tight, clean little package, this thing is all the good stuff about hot rodding in one low revving little case.
