FYI: BangShift.com Is Not Broadcasting The March Meet This Year

Just a note for those of you who have been looking for BangShift’s streaming coverage of the 2018 March Meet. The track has taken the production in house and is streaming it on a pay per view basis. We’ve had a lot of good years covering this race and we wish all the competitors the best as they chase the biggest win in the world of nostalgia drag racing.

BangShift.com WILL be live streaming the Midwest Pro Mod Association season opener this weekend live from the Texas Motorplex. Stay tuned for a link as the coverage will begin on Friday and like always, it’ll be right here and free.

I’m going to take a wild guess that they will have two stationary cameras which is a joke. I hope they choke on what ever money they make.

    Oh Well,

Now we see how NHRA has managed to ruin another event.

Why would any sponsor be involved with a car entered in this race?

Soon this race will be a memory.

    1. Brian

NHRA has nothing to do with it. Literally. It is the track that is doing the production.

      1. Cmore Butts

The March Meet is owned by the Famoso Raceway folks, never owned by NHRA.

NHRA Sanctions the track and manages the Heritage series, they do not put on this race to the vid pay per view

this is more than a little reminiscent of when the Vegas SCSN decided to do a pay per view disaster one year, and happily BS was back for free streaming coverage the year after. I’m hoping that same pattern is repeated for the March Meet. The silver lining I suppose is I might actually get some work done this weekend.

What a bunch of CRAP. I was looking forward to watching some of the gas classes and hot rod run!

  5. Robert

Thats a real bummer. I can’t make it to the event and was hoping to at least see some runs on here.

Well I subscribed.. figure on a snowy & cold weekend it’ll be better than nothing.. and though it isnt Chad and Bryan.. its better than I expected.. nice hand held filming on the track at the start line and a panning camera following the run.. plus a few other fixed views looking towards the start line.. all good by me.. Thats me set for the weekend!
Chad is on the PA at the moment too.

Well, first we, Goodguys, got the boot, now you guys. Sorry to hear, always enjoyed you and Chads work. Thanks for those years.

I went to the March Meet many times starting in 1959, the first one and for years after that. Can\’t make the trip this year and will miss your feed, bummed out, hope you are back next year. I am going to try to get the Hot Rod Reunion this year.

I just watched the link in the comments above where the bearded one seems happy that he will be part of the PAY PER VIEW broadcast, and probably being paid for his time spent. One thing, how in the hell does the wise bearded one know how much money I do or don’t have to spend, that would be my fixed income, and I don’t or can’t drink beer any longer. I was only disapointed but now I’m, oh I don’t know, Pissed off and speechless.

Well I was really pissed when I saw a certain bearded dude too do his part on the video for the March Meet site, and thought well here we go yet again! Nhra Has stepped in with all there brilliant greedy minds and have screwed us little people yet again. So I paid my Per View Pay Up, and unfortunately had to work half my day ,but I had thought I would be able to catch up on the dvd part? Well_ Not so fast! If you miss it! You Missed it! There is no way of viewing what you had missed! No Allday dvd replay available! So if you miss it? Your Screwed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And S.O.L I will never do this again.

    1. Greenbastard

Thank you Lee for letting us know that there is no DVR for this race. I was getting ready to hit the “purchase”, but then I decided to research if there was going to be a DVR replay because like you I have to work today and tomorrow so what’s the use of blowing $19.58 if I can’t see the entire race! Even NHRA has a DVR on their own pay-per-view broadcasts! WTF! Bad idea all the way around! I also heard Mark from MMTV, anounce that his group was handling the March Meet PPV, but after searching his site there is nothing mentioned even though I just got an announcement emailed to me from livestream about this event. I clicked the link and it says “nothing found”
Oh well at least BS is streaming the Pro Mods this weekend so thanks to Brian and Chad for saving my weekend!

  11. Steve

Jeez, this sucks. I have never paid to view anything, I’m not gonna now. Hopefully I’m not alone and it’s a one year only disaster.

  12. Anthony Taylor

A real blow for those of us here in Europe. The coverage on BS did have some limitations but that was part of the thrill of being able to watch the March Meet live and (usually) complete. The time difference of 8 hours made the as live catch-up an essential part of the BS coverage.

    Tony (Southampton, England).

  13. JERAGSTER

Not going to pay it! I do want the track to make money, but there are other way to do it. Mike Dunn will be working it witch has value to me, but I think some sponsorship/advertising money should cover the cost. I do spend with the companies that give back!

    1. Greenbastard

Bob, Do you know if it has a replay (DVR) function so you can watch what you might miss live?
      Thank you

  14. Stu

As far as I’m concerned, Chad sold out. They kicked Bangshift to the curb, Chad goes in and jumps on a mike. WTF

  15. Greenbastard

I just heard back from Famoso and the company handling the streaming that there is indeed a DVR available to rewatch each day’s racing as will as a full event replay at the end of the meet. So as much as I hate paying to watch a stream, $19.59 is actually a pretty good deal for an entire weekend of the March Meet. Besides it would cost me boo koo $$$ to travel from the east coast to watch it live anyway even if I could have gotten off of work to do attend. One of these days I hope to be able to check this race off of my bucket list!

  16. bob

This coverage is great! Chad doing interviews in the staging lanes. All kinds of cameras! wow!

  17. bob

Stu you don’t know the details. Don’t trash Chad. This coverage is so good I’m not getting anything done for four days!

  18. bob

One thing this race does lack is 150 flat billed ball cap baggy pants ding a lings standing on the starting line.

  19. bob

Another thing that’s a little hard to take is any interview with Mark Sanders. Who seems Hell bent on being the second coming of John force.

Unfortunately he doesn’t seem to realize a little bit of Mark Sanders goes a long way…………………..

  20. bob

My name is bob. I\’m a plant. I\’m here to say all is well and no one is upset. It\’s all hot dogs, mom, and apple pie.

  21. bob

Well my name is bob and don’t get me confused with this bob^^^. If you are going to rip my name off, how about not being such an asshole. I was here first. If I was you, maybe change your name to Geordie.

  22. bob

I’m confused. Which bob is the ass****? The one that likes the broadcast or the one that doesn’t like the one that likes the broadcast?
