A Tour Of The Late Skip Lee’s ET Enterprises Speed Shop: Jeff Lee Shares His Late Father’s Amazing Collection Of Parts, Cars, And More That You Can Own!

Jeff Lee and I have been friends for years now, and one of the things that brought us together was the fact that we grew up with dads who were as passionate about racing and Chevrolets as anyone. That passion and dedication are what molded Jeff and me into the car guys that we are. The fact that both of our dads own first-gen Z28 Camaros that they bought new was also something in common that most people don’t share. But while my dad was a mechanic and automotive service guy, Jeff’s dad Skip was an automotive pattern maker, machinist, and ultimately a speed shop owner. ET Enterprises was his Speed Shop and the legacy of that name was huge in their stomping grounds in Michigan.

Skip was a successful racer, competing in Stock Eliminator and more, an avid historian, a well-known engine builder, and a designer of new parts. I had the pleasure of spending time talking about cars and parts and history with him over the years and like most folks that knew him I am a better person for it. So when I got the news, on Mother’s Day 2020, that Skip had passed away, I felt the collective gasp of a world that would truly miss this man in more ways than he and his family might ever expect.

I’m not going to lie, I had planned on running this story and video a few days ago but was afraid I wouldn’t do it justice as I teared up to write it each day. Then I realized something. I realized that I didn’t need to tell all of you anything that Jeff hadn’t already put into words in his video and in the description. That I only needed to do my friend and his father justice by sharing how great he was and telling you that you need to pay attention to this amazing collection of parts and cars that is available. Not everything is for sale, but a bunch of it is, and Skip would want it to go to good homes so that it can live on. Watch the video below, listen to the stories, and contact Jeff if you have an interest in anything you see. His contact information is below. All the proceeds are going to take care of Jeff’s mom.

Keep in mind, what Jeff is showing here is just some of what is available. If you see two of something in the video there are likely 10 of them in the collection of parts and pieces.

Video Description by Skip’s son Jeff:

On Mother’s Day 2020 my father Fred “Skip” Lee passed away suddenly of a heart attack. It has been the biggest loss of my life as he was an amazing dad, my best friend, my hero, and my mentor. If you knew him, he was a good friend, and very generous/giving of his time and expertise with engines, parts, racing, skills, and friendship. I miss him every day and I’ve been trying to stay strong and handle business for mom but sometimes it still gets to me being around his stuff and I have to walk away from it for a bit. We’re starting to sell engines and parts, etc. and I decided the best way to show people what is available was to just walk through and shoot it with my phone.

ET Enterprises was the name of Dad’s speed shop. He ran it from the early 80’s to the mid 2000’s and built engines and worked on people’s race cars years before that. He drag raced from the 60’s to the mid 2000’s mainly in NHRA/IHRA Stock Eliminator and NMCA Top Stock with his 1971 Monte Carlo (and various other cars before us kids came along). Dad was a patternmaker by trade and never one to be bored in retirement, in 2010 he designed a GM 12 bolt based IRS differential for 5th Gen Camaros, C2-C4 Corvettes, Gen 1-2 Vipers (with more applications pending). We called it HammerHead IRS and brought it to the market in 2013.

My brother and sisters are handling this all with me and doing their parts for mom but I’m managing most of the car stuff mainly because I was most involved in that and still work in the auto aftermarket world. And I don’t want Mom taken advantage of and just blow this stuff out for cheap.

So for the past year and a half, I’ve been driving back and forth from Tennessee to Michigan every month or two to be with Mom and deal with everything surrounding his death and the estate, managing our business, and working my day job at an auto aftermarket agency. I lost my boss Randy Martin of Martin & Company Advertising to COVID almost a year to the day as my Dad and Randy was another father figure to me, so that has also been a huge blow. The pandemic in general has made everything more difficult and this is no question the strangest period of my life.

We’ve begun selling some things to help my mom and finish building some of his cars. Some to sell. Some to keep. I’ve been listing things on FB Marketplace and groups mainly, forums, eBay, RacingJunk and other places online and just getting the word out to people I know or he knew that might be interested. I’m building some spreadsheets and posting more parts for sale every time I am in town. I will not be opening this place up to the public, but we can do appointment viewings while I am home if you organize with me.

The collection is primarily Chevy BBC, SBC & LS parts. With some stuff for specific cars, Mainly Chevy muscle cars. But there’s some oddball stuff I had no idea he had, and I’ve lived away from home for over 20 years. Feel free to contact me at the pages below or in the comments to ask about parts you see or might be looking for as we may have what you’re looking for.

Ever see some guy with an incredible stash of parts and he is a total dick about them? Won’t sell, only shares details with certain people, makes fun of you for asking noob questions.

Well, that is not who this guy is. He made a video to show you the collection…or as much as he has been able to catalog.

I hope you have a friend like Jeff Lee.

I need a driver side OEM mirror for a 1965 Impala SS. I’m 3rd owner of this car that was owned by the Fisher family ( fisher body). Full documentation.
53,000 original miles. All maintenance paperwork from its first oil change. No shit.
    300hp 327 matching numbers car.
    Stored 35 years indoors.
    Almost frame off restoration.
Can’t find OEM driver side mirror..
That’s it. All the rest is good. HELP A CHEVY GUY OUT. Price and availability.

That car sounds awesome. Now I will say that a lot of the Impala stuff is probably long gone as he sold that car and a parts car in the early 80’s around when he built the Monte Carlo race car, but there may be some odds and ends. I will keep an eye out for this.

Hi very sorry for your loss like your father I have accumulated a lot of parts unfortunately munfortunately my stuff is mostly junk. I would be very interested to end a set of aluminum heads I noticed you have a set of elder block heads.

I also have a 71 Monte Carlo SS454 car that I would love to find an aluminum Intake which would be the low profile 1 year only 71 I believe For the LS6.
I know that as that as overwhelming all of this is you have been left a legacy , You are a very lucky man . Keep the faith

I may have another low-rise intake. I used one on that 73 Camaro for hood clearance on that crate 454. I have plenty of the “163” rec port intakes but that’s not the “correct” intake.
