(Photos by Cole Reynolds) Rocky Mountain Road Week is in full swing, and we had a great time navigating the highways and bi-ways of Kansas to get to Topeka for tomorrow’s racing. Today was a drive only day, but that didn’t mean that drivers had it easy. Quite the contrary actually as racers had to leave cars in search of parts, thrash in parking lots all night, and patch things up with whatever they could find. Some will have to wait to get parts tomorrow morning before we start racing at Heartland Motorsports Park at 9am tomorrow. We’ll run until 3 pm and then hit the road for the next stop on the tour.
For us the day started off replacing a header gasket that leaked because a bolt fell out and then driving along adjusting some of our tune that we had corrected for an exhaust leak we didn’t know existed at the time. Luckily the rest of our day of driving was drama free and fun as we cruised along with Scott Liggett in his cool C10 Hay Hauler project truck and Bryan Lum and Anthony Noffsinger in Lums kick ass ZL1 Camaro. Somehow we always end up being the lead car in these scenarios, but we didn’t mind today as the route was perfectly planned and our directions were flawless. Cole had fun shooting car to car, which is one of his favorite things to do, and we have some fun photos of cars we cruised with or stopped to help.
