When Steve and Suzy and the gang from the ECTA called me and asked if I wanted to help out at the ECTA Spaceport America 1.5 Mile Shootout, I said “Sure, how can I help?”. When they said I could do top end interviews and that this even was going to include access to the space port, mission control, and would require my ID to get approved before I could arrive, I knew this was going to be bitchin. When I found out just how cool this place was AND that my friend Dan Parker was going to try to run over 200 mph in his freshly built Corvette, I knew I had to be there. And did I mention that Dan is blind? And that Jay Leno is going to ride with him? Yeah, it just keep getting better and better doesn’t it?

But with such limited and controlled access, how is everyone else going to see all the cool stuff going on? Well thanks to our friends at MotormaniaTV, you all get to watch every moment of the fun and excitement. We’ll be bringing you the runs, the stories at the finish, some stories from the pits, and all kinds of fun I’m sure. Who knows what kind of trouble I can get into here. After all, this is where they launch the Virgin Galactic space ships! Who knows, maybe we can convince them we need an interview from space. What could possibly go wrong?
