The Four-Wheel-Drive Jeep Kart: Steering, Body Mounts, and Rock Sliders

The Four-Wheel-Drive Jeep Kart: Steering, Body Mounts, and Rock Sliders

They weren’t kidding when they said that they were building their next Power Wheels Jeep to a high quality. The Grind Hard Plumbing Co. folks have been going all in on this four-wheel-drive KTM-powered beast and it’s coming into it’s own nicely. It’s really cool to see the progress from simply building a simple frame and jamming an engine into a Power Wheels body to what this Jeep project is, which is the creating on a full chassis, suspension and powertrain design that not only wears the Power Wheels body well, but has the room to properly fit an adult, has actual suspension that is more than whatever air is squishing in the tires, and will be capable of doing more than scaring the bejeezus out of the driver. Though, we’re pretty sure that’s still part of the program.

Progress continues with the chassis, steering system, and extras like body mounts and rock sliders being put on the chassis, plus a first test-fit of the body. There’s a lot to go, but if you’re into the build more than the beating, this is a neat episode. And if you want to see this thing in action, be patient, because this looks like it’ll be worth it and then some. I wonder how much it would cost to build another one. That little beast would be a ball on some of the trails around Kentucky and Tennessee!
