DIY Tech: How To Make Your Own Gaskets At Home – Who Needs A Parts Store?

Every time we go on a Drag and Drive event, I bring two kinds of gasket material so that if we have a problem I can make what is needed. Whether it is for our car or someone else’s car, being able to make a gasket for something is great. Sure, I bring spare header gaskets, and sometimes intake gaskets, but the truth is that the other small stuff sometimes demands immediate attention and the only way to make that happen is to make your own gaskets. With simple tools, anyone can build their own gaskets with readily available materials. There are special gasket making tools as well, but they aren’t always necessary.

In this video, Jefferson from RedDirtRodz is going to show you just how you can make your own gaskets at home.

Video Description:

When a gasket fails, you get leaks, poor performance, and unwanted noise. Most of the time you can buy a replacement gasket, but sometimes they are not available or you need to fix it immediately and can’t wait to order one, or it is a custom part. For those situations, you can easily make your own gasket.

All you need are a few handtools and some gasket material.
