HOW TO: BIG LS POWER WITH MILD CAMS-THE KEY IS HEAD FLOW. BIG CAM, SMALL HEAD VS BIG HEAD SMALL CAM

Everybody wants a 6.0 LS truck engine! These are the go to for power because they already have a cubic inch advantage over their little brothers the 5.3 and 4.8, but that bump in size comes from a much bigger bore. We’re talking about nearly a quarter of an inch of extra bore which means valves that aren’t shrouded and cylinder heads that can reach their maximum potential because of it. So how much power can you really make with a 6.0 with a mild camshaft in it?

A junkyard 6.0, with nothing but a cam upgrade, can make well over 500 horsepower. But how does head flow effect this? Can you make that same power with even less camshaft if the cylinder heads are better? Richard Holdener is testing just that, along with a lot more, in the video below. So if you want to know the perfect power recipe for your 6.0 LS engine, then check it out.
