(Photos by Dom Damato/DRD Photos) – We’re back with another flipping awesome set of images from Shakedown At The Summit 2014 at Norwalk. As we told you yesterday, the weather for the weekend wasn’t exactly what the Chamber of Commerce ordered up but the racers came out in droves and the fans were there with bells (and sweatshirts on). This race, which was held at Englishtown for years, has really found a good home at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park. Kurt Johnson and his guys keep the track in mint shape and the Bader family continues to manage the place with great vision and attention to detail. When it comes to drag strips, few if any are in the league with Norwalk.

Dom Damato or DRD Photography was on the scene blasting away for us. A master of the pan blur, his action photos are really fantastic. You need to pay close attention to the tires on the cars in the photos. Some of the radial machines have them wadded up way down track, there are slick tired cars shaking themselves to pieces, and then there are some of the big heavy monsters like the Dodge below that just have them folded, twisted, and rumpled up like an old bed sheet. This is really awesome stuff.
