This BMW Pro Mod Is Our Favorite Argentinian Drag Car – Low 4s In The 8th With BMW Power!

The sport of drag racing has never been bigger in Argentina than it is right now. We have watched over the last few years as the videos coming from the country have shown ever faster cars, ever nicer tracks, and ever larger crowds. So far we have seen footage from nearly a half dozen strips in the country and while some are really rustic, more of them are pro level looking in both surface and amenities than ever before. The reason the tracks are coming along is because the cars are coming along as well. For instance, this wildly awesome BMW pro mod of Lucas Gonzalez.

You are going to see it make a couple runs in the two videos below. The slower of the two runs is a 4.60 in the eighth mile and the quicker is a 4.41. That’s freaking hustling and when we all consider that the thing still has a BMW engine in it, the situation get even cooler. We’re going to have to go digging to find the all time BMW ET record but these guys have to be getting damned close.

While both of the runs you will see are solos, note the crowds at the two strips. Both are banged out and that’s a great sign. Obviously down there in the Southern Hemisphere it is summer right now and racing season is raging. That’s good news for us as we will continue to keep an eye on the drag racing world down there and show you the best stuff that we find.

A bucket list trip for is 100% for sure getting to go to the drags in South America. So much radical stuff happening there. Watch!

Cool! It’s great to see drag racing spreading around the world…isn’t it almost winter down there now, though?
