New Parts: Ridetech Introduces Complete Suspension Systems For 1961-1965 Ford Falcon!

The early Ford Falcon is a platform that many hot rodders have played around with over the years. The cars are neatly styled, they are light, and they are more than happy to take a hot little small block in the nose and provide lots of smiles with newfound horsepower. If there is one place that the little Falcon has not had the best support it’s in the suspension dept. Yes, there are bolt on parts that can take the factory stuff and make it better, but what about a complete make-over solution? That’s now a thing because of Ridetech.

So the Ridetech system is offered with either ShockWave or coil over options and it’s a total front to back transformation. Up front it is the entire Tru-Turn system that allows for up to a 225-width tire with no trouble. Spindles, Muscle Bar, up to seven degrees of caster possible, etc. Like we said, transformation. Out back? Gone are the leaf springs and in goes the four link style rear suspension that makes the car work 1,000x better in competitive or spirited driving situations. The four link is adjustable and provides options that control squat and instant center to your liking.

THIS is what you Falcon owners have been waiting for!

You will not believe the little Ford Falcon could drive and ride as it does with the Ridetech suspension system. It is super tight, responsive, and can take the most aggressive cornering and come back asking for more… while at the same time being compliant, smooth, quiet, and comfortable enough to go to a nice dinner with the family.

You can easily set up your Ford Falcon Ridetech Suspension system in two different “flavors” – Coil-Over or ShockWave-Air-Suspension. Both have advantages, and you can decide what works best for you.

Front Tru-Turn:

We started with fitting 225/40-R18 tires (Recommended Backspace 5.00”-5.25”) and then built a tubular control arm set up to provide all the correct geometry to get them to work effectively.

The steering was also completely updated to provide quick response and virtually no bumpsteer.

To finish off the front suspension, we fitted a new MuscleBar sway bar that is heavy enough to take on the most aggressive of drivers.

  • Includes New Ridetech Spindles
  • Bumpsteer reduced to less than 1/16”
  • Draglink, Pitman Arm, Idler Arm, Idler Arm Mount included
  • Zero to over 7 degrees of caster possible
  • 1 1/8” Solid Front Sway Bar – Rate 608 lbs/in
  • When equipped with 225/40 -R18 tires, standard ride height is 22 ¾” ground to the fender lip

Rear 4-Link:

We chose to fix the rear suspension in much the same way we have done on many muscle cars originally equipped with leaf springs… swap in a 4-link.

This rear bolt-on 4-link suspension system completely transforms the little Ford Falcon into a world class, handling machine, and at the same time provides an incredible smooth ride and bind free operation.

Starting off, the rear will accept up to a 225/40-R18 with a recommended backspace 5.50”-6.00” and provide a ride Height: 18 ¾”  ground to the fender lip.

  • Adjustable 4-link bars including R-Joints
  • Triangulated 4-Link – no need for panhard bar and keeps rear end movement vertical
  • Bolt-in cradle
  • Upper Control Arm Axle Mounts require welding
  • Spacers included to fit multiple factory leaf spring mounts (2.5” & 3”)
  • 3 Mounting Holes for Lower Control Arm at Axle
    1- Top Hole: Anti-Squat: 74.4%; Instant Center: 72.8”
    2- Middle Hole: Anti-Squat: 108.1%; Instant Center: 58.35”
    3-  Bottom Hole: Anti-Squat: 135.5%; Instant Center: 50.25”

I think the intro is over hyped. There have been at least a couple other companies doing modernized Falcon and Comet suspensions for years. TCI and Total Control. Art Morrison too but that’s not bolt in.
