DRAG NEWS: Scott Palmer Announces Plans To Race Entire 2017 NHRA Mello Yello Series Tour

In the midst of a volatile NHRA off season that has seen new drivers announced, some cars parked, teams being added, teams being parked, and personnel shuffling all over the greater Brownsburg, Indiana area, we’ve got good news for fans of hardcore nitro racers. Scott Palmer will be making the full 2016 NHRA Mello Yello pull with his top fuel dragster. Ashley Fye will continue in her duties as crew chief and the team will continue its fan favorite practice of whacking the throttle to “set the clutch” in the pits. This practice has been abandoned by many of the pro teams which bums fans out but these guys are keeping the spirit alive and we love it.

These guys and girls are fan favorites because they race hard and they are scrappy as hell. The team had some big moments of success in 2016 and they had their share of shortfalls as well. The biggest thing that comes with running the full tour is consistency. Being able to field the car 24 times a year is a huge thing for a a car and a crew. The more they work, the better they get and the better they get the more competitive the car becomes.

We know that lots of fans love Scott Palmer and they’ll now have a chance to pull for him, Ashley, and the crew for the entire season. We’re smiling from ear to ear with this news!
