Five Minutes Of Drag Wheelies, Wrecks, And Saves From All Over The Country Including Rare Footage Of A Thundering Injected Nitro Pro Mod

More Urban Hillbilly Action Video perfection here in the form of Sean Melton’s latest YouTube release from his vaults. In this video we see everything from oil pan bashing wheelies at Orlando to pro mods tagging the wall at places like Motor Mile Dragway and even some fascinating of a short lived injected nitro pro mod. You read that right. A couple of years ago Don Wooten dreamed up and had built a pro mod style car with an injected nitromethane burning engine to run in the now defunct ADRL. It was going to be tuned by Tom Conway and had the promise to be an amazing machine both in the sense of show and in the sense of GO. When word escaped about the car, which was going to run a near full load of nitro, NHRA rules makers spoke up and basically told the ADRL that the car would run a load of about 50% or they would lose their ASO (Associate Sanctioning Organization) status, hurting the organization in a major way on several fronts. Cooler heads prevailed and the car was run on the reduced load briefly before being shelved. We’re not sure if the wreck you’ll see it suffer at SGMP caused its demise or the fuel percentage reduction made it a non-starter but either way, you’ll get to see it in this video and boy it sure sounds like more than a 50% load in there!

As Sean always does in these videos, he keeps the action moving. When we tell you that this is over five minutes of non-stop “stuff” happening we’re not kidding. The only breaks in the action are the quick cuts between shots and runs. There are some big ones in here and also some good saves. The guy in the El Camino suffers the most curious of the crashes and it is really tough to watch because it seems like he has it saved until all of a sudden…he doesn’t.

Joe Monden actually was the crew chief behind Wooten’s A/FPX Camaro. The combo showed tons of potential even at 50% in the tank. Other factors ended the collaboration, though. Gene Snow is still working towards having a similar combination in a Cadillac XLR for TOPMA action.
