I’m a freak for induction systems. I love searching them out on eBay and other places. The weirder the better and frankly this setup, which appears to be custom built is pretty awesome. What we are looking at here is a four Weber carb setup that is designed to sit atop a Boss 429 Ford big block. That’s an engine that even the most ardent non-Ford people in the world have respect for. While not the greatest street performance engine, Boss 429s can really be made to create some huge steam with their massive ports and free flowing cylinder heads.

This particular intake is cool and will fit original factory Boss 429 heads, TM 429 heads, and Kaase 429 heads as well. If you are running aftermarket square port style Boss 429 heads this sucker will not fit. The carbs are 48mm IDA Webers. While they are notoriously, umm, interesting to tune, if you get it right this thing will really make some atmosphere enter the engine.

The seller says that the intake is hand fabricated and since we have never, ever seen a Boss 429 with a quartet of Webers perched a top it, we’re believing them. It would be an awesome look to pull the hood up on a Mustang or any other Boss powered vehicle with this thing perched atop those iconic heads. The big question is whether it would fit under a stock hood or not and let’s say that it doesn’t. A proper opening with those eight mesh covered flutes coming through the top would be pretty freaking awesome as well.

    Damn I guess I’m in the wrong business! A fella needs to machine some flanges and weld some tube between them and cut out a valley plate and…bang 5K!
