Good Vibrations March Meet 2016: Friday Pit Thrash Photos! Lots Of Work Being Done

Friday was a hard luck day at the 2016 Good Vibrations March Meet. There was carnage a plenty in virtually every class and especially in the nitro burning categories. There were funny cars flipping on their roofs, dragsters blowing up in the lights, and crew guys who were responsible for putting it all back together again. There were more hemi parts killed on Friday than we have ever seen in our lives. Such is the nature of the beast and as Jack Beckman always says, “We have discovered the problem…there’s nitromethane in the fuel tank.”

You’l be tired just looking at these photos of crew guys, crew chiefs, and anyone who was caught in the vortex walking by thrashing on these cars. Wild stuff and it goes to show you how serious the competition is at Bakersfield this year.

Wrenching on these cars is probably the most dangerous aspects of drag racing; almost all teams use aerosol Brake Cleaner as a cleaning and degreasing solution.

Brake Clean is effective and flashes dry due to it’s highly volatile solvent content. Unfortunately, it’s also extremely dangerous to people. Read the warning label…you’ll be shocked.

I am from Alaska visiting my sister in Bakersfield. Went to the March meet on Friday but couldn’t make it on Saturday. Tried to watch your live feed on Saturday and it would not let me because of location.
Should I try again sometime or just forget Bangshift??
    Was kinda disappointed

Paul, we are allowed to do this because of track management. They have parameters and rules that we follow. One of them is a local blackout area. Unfortunately you are in that area.

When home, you’ll be able to watch all our stuff. We play by the rules that the track sets and that’s why we have been able to continue to broadcast the race.

      Sorry for the inconvenience.
