Here’s What The First 3-Second Run On A 275 Radial Tire Looked Like – Smooth As Glass!

(Video Credit: FreeLife Films YouTube) – It is always cool when you see someone achieve a goal that they are working their fingers to the bone for. Ziff Hudson had been the the man closest to breaking into the 3-second zone (in the eighth mile) on a 275 tire. He came close and then blew up his car in big fashion in Florida. After coming back onto the track the world knew that he had the power and all he needed was the time to figure it out. At Radial Fest 2017 he busted through, running 3.99/191mph and achieved the marks he was looking so hard to achieve. Thanks to Free Life Films, here’s what the first 3-second run on a 275 Radial looked like.

In a word, it is as smooth as glass. As much as there is “pedalfest” style racing on radials, you only ever see it in eliminations when getting to the end first is the only objective. During a run like this you’ll see the fully glory of how a radial tire car is supposed to work. Dead hook the tire using every drop of power you think you can, rolling the rest of the power into the car as it gets underway, and then basically run through the back half of the track with the afterburners on.

Perhaps the coolest part of this is the fact that Hudson never gave up. He could have and no one would have blamed him. Having gone 4.006 before his car boomed in Orlando a few months ago, he was already the baddest man on 275s in the world. Instead Hudson went back to the drawing board, knuckled down and came out even harder and faster than he did originally.

That’s a drag racer, kids.

Here’s what the first 3-second run on a 275 Radial looked like – Ziff Hudson did it!
