(Photos by Bryan McTaggart) – If there’s one thing that no one can ever call the Holley LS Fest it is boring. The automotive equivalent of a 50 ring circus, at any one time there are show cars, autocross cars, drift cars, drag cars, and dyne action all happening at once or some combo thereof. The drifting portion of the program was pretty amazing to watch and it completely packed the spectator stands at the circle track here at Beech Bend Raceway Park. It filled them with young men and women who came to see gnarly V8 powered rear wheel drive cars boil tires and slide around in an artfully violent way and boy did they ever.

McTaggart was at ground zero during the drifting situation and he got a lot of great photos from the action. The most shocking car in the bunch? A flawless C6 Corvette that was just a riot to watch. In a sea of LS swapped import bodies this thing could not have stood out any more than it did. The whole thing was fun to watch and it brings an amazing element to the event that it would otherwise be lacking.

You may “hate” drifting but you don’t hate burnouts, power slides, and screaming engines. You’ll dig these photos.
