Honk If Parts Fall Off! Video Feature Of The Coolest 1967 Chevelle To Ever Attack Drag Week

Honk If Parts Fall Off! Video Feature Of The Coolest 1967 Chevelle To Ever Attack Drag Week

Rick Steinke is either a mad man or a genius…or both. See, he’s the guy that built, owns, and races a 1967 four door Chevelle called Honk If Parts Fall Off. It looks ratty, it has a bench seat, it runs harder than you would ever expect and it kicked some ass at Drag Week 2016. I was super pumped to see the car in person because I had seen it on the internet but never with my own two eyes at the same track.

Powered by a 414ci traditional small block with AFR 227 heads and an 80mm Borg Warner cast wheel turbo, it is a “simple” combo that makes a ton of power and shoves this car down the track deep into the eight second zone. We did not hear of any major catastrophes involving the car’s mechanical systems and Rick was even so nice as to hook me and DF up with a Honk If Parts Fall Off T-shirt which we currently wear with pride.

The car’s shining moment came on Friday at Drag Week when the driving had been done and Rick decided to really let’er eat a little. The long four door Chevelle went into the most majestic and graceful wheelie of the whole week. Thankfully 1320Video was there to not only capture the video but capture it and add it to this great video profile of the car and its equally cool owner.

Drag week was a family affair for Honk if Parts Fall Off – watch here –

After all the highly detailed machinery masterpiece type vehicles at SEMA and even at your local drag strip nowdays it’s great to see a primered beat down looking four door run so straight and consistent on 5 different tracks and end the week with a great burnout and picture book wheel stand. Thanks for sharing this.

That’s a racer’s race car! Don’t need (or have) the extra money to make it look pretty, just go fast goodies! If it was a ’66, then it would be perfect but who’s getting picky here!

Props to the builder/owner. I’m so bored by big buck pro-mods with plates.

This car is the opposite of those and it’s a car that I can relate to. The whole “looks don’t matter, function does” vibe is a good, healthy one and I really enjoy seeing these cars and learning about their owners.

Ya’ll have no idea how much effort he put into those effortless 6 passes.
The car was built on overtime and overkill as a min.
It made the trip only loosing the muffler to the mother of all IED road patches and 15 min .repair . the trailer almost made it too .
