McLeod Racing Offers $10,000 To 100th Female Professional NHRA Category Winner – Very Cool Bonus!

McLeod Racing Offers $10,000 To 100th Female Professional NHRA Category Winner – Very Cool Bonus!

Anticipation has been running high since Erica Enders-Stevens collected the 99th Wally ever awarded to a female professional racer by the National Hot Rod Association in Houston, Texas. The 100th win by a female professional racer is now a certainty. The only question that remains is who will do it and where will it happen. With three female drivers solidly qualified last weekend in Atlanta, we expected it to happen then, but the weird weather and general bizarre nature of that race prevented the historic moment. The world now turns its eyes to Heartland Park Raceway in Topeka, Kansas to see if the historic event will take place there. One of those interested parties is McLeod Racing, the great manufacturer of clutches, flywheels, clutch discs, and other components. That company has decided to up the ante on the whole deal by offering a $10,000 reward to the 100th female professional class winner that is running their decal when the moment occurs.

The really cool thing about this is that McLeod stepped up to do it. Every major milestone in modern drag racing has had some sort of a bonus program. Who can forget the clubs formed by companies like Cragar, Slick50 and others. There was money paid out when the 300mph barrier fell, when the four second barrier was shattered, etc. We’re excited that McLeod has stepped up to the plate and offered this generous award to the 100th female professional class winner. Hell, it could happen this weekend!

Here’s the full release from McLeod:

MCLEOD RACING OFFERS $10,000 100th NHRA WOMENS WINNER REWARD

Placentia, CAMay 21, 2014 –In a sport that is dominated by men, the women of the NHRA have and continue to leave their mark on the sport. McLeod Racing would like to honor the NHRA Mello Yello female driver that wins the 100th event with a $10,000 cash reward.

Since then the NHRA has seen a host of world class female NHRA winning drivers like Erica Enders-Stevens, Alexis Dejoria, Ashley and Courtney Force, Angelle Sampey, Melanie Troxel, and Shelly Payne, to name just a few.

If the driver of the 100th NHRA female event winner is displaying the provided McLeod Racing logo on their race car, then McLeod Racing will present that driver a $10,000 reward. Drivers must contact McLeod Racing for eligibility details.

“I’m proud that our company has chosen to honor the women of our sport,” says Paul Lee, NHRA Funny Car Driver and McLeod Racing owner. “Their contribution to our sport has helped fuel its growth and brought many more fans to the NHRA. I can’t wait to see who wins our $10,000 cash!”

That’s cool and all but…..Those 3 don’t really need the money.
Better would be $10,000 to every sportsman S or SS racer who wins with McLeod stuff.

Maybe $ for every female to win any class this year if it has to be a girl thing.
