Morning Symphony: The Kenda 660 Radial Riot – Aussies On Radials!

Radial class racing isn’t cool just because of the tire compound. It’s the feats that drivers are able to accomplish while being on a raidal compound tire that keeps things exciting. Cars wearing 275-series rubber running in the sevens and faster. Back-half cars on 235s that are planting the rears and hanging the fronts high. That’s the kind of stuff we love about radial racing. Every wheelstand, every win light, is another round of “Anything you can do, I can do better” taunting to racers on slicks. Yeah, you can hook, but I made this mother hook with a radial and and I ran it like this.

This is the Kenda 660 Drag Radial Series, specifically the Radial Riot event at Willowbank Raceway. This is fourteen minutes of radial cars doing what they do best. Whether it’s the Outlaw Radial class that’s anything goes on 315-series tires or the Outlaw 235 class, the racing is like anything else Australian: if they’re going to do it, put in too much horsepower and do it right!

This must have been filmed by a millennial. Camera doesn’t stay in place for more than a few seconds. Could have been interesting but that drives me crazy! Yes, I am old.
