Boosts Of Burden: This Video Profiles 10 Of The Coolest, Weirdest, and Most Interesting Boosted Race Engines Ever

This is an interesting collection of boosted engines. Before you drag racers out there get your dander up about not seeing a fuel engine in this collection, just know it’s mostly road racing and rally car stuff. We dig this because the engines cross all the years and even cross some different motorsports. The narrator’s accent is a little heavy but we love the fact that he’s compiling these list, giving good stats and then showing the beastly things in action.

From post-war Grand Prix cars to the monster engines of the Can-Am series in the 1970s, there’s a little something for everyone in here.

When you look at the power and how it was managed when most of these engines were built it really speaks to the raw balls and skill of racing drivers during different time periods. Seriously. Think about the things that happen today in a race car and then think about what was available to aid the driver in the 1950s, 1970s, and 1980s. There wasn’t much. Tires and suspension got better, brakes got better, but they all had to be operated by the guy or girl in the seat.

If you love engines that push it to the edge, this is video for you.
