NHRA Announces NHRA All-Access Streaming Service From National Events – Subscription Service

NHRA Announces NHRA All-Access Streaming Service From National Events – Subscription Service

One of the lingering questions that has been floating since the NHRA announced the vastly improved television package on FOX and FOX Sports 1 has been the availability of live streaming video from their events and whether or not international audiences would be able to tune in. Wonder no more as the NHRA has provided answers to both of those things. We’ll start with the streaming video first.

So from what we can gather from the release below, at some point early in the season (apparently not at Pomona) the NHRA will announce the ability to sign up for NHRA All-Access which is what the package is being called. This is a subscription service and it’ll be $99.00 for the year. If you are freaking out, wait a second. You will be getting complete live streaming access of nearly ever sportsman run and every pro run run starting on Friday morning and ending on Sunday afternoon with the close of the event. The audio will be provided by the track announcers (if you just can’t get enough of yours truly) and the video will be taken from the same feed that the trackside big screens use. Again, this is every minute of every event from the moment they fire the service up.

They have not announced a date as to when this will be implemented but we’ll keep you posted. We think it is pretty cool and if it is installed with the vast majority of the 24 race schedule available it is worth it in our eyes. You can pop in and out as you please and if something crazy happens you’ll be there front and center to see it. There was no live streaming in 2015, so this is a cool thing that they are bringing back and people have been clamoring for it. Our understanding is that this service will be available globally.

The other big piece of news in the release deals with international television. Obviously there are lots of NHRA fans outside the borders of the country and NHRA has announced a deal with a company called Greenlight International. Greenlight will distribute the NHRA shows internationally and the races will either be shown live or as one hour programs for viewers. The release has more country specific information so you can check it out there.

Being that the Winternationals are a week away we’re wondering if these guys have anything else up their sleeves?!

I hope this will come to fruition. Many many hours spent listening to the audio cast just trying to hear all the runs from the true racers in the sportsman ranks. About time we will actually get to see them along with listening to the guys like Brian, Alan, and the rest of the guys in the tower. Looking forward to this.

This is not new but it is a big improvement on what they had. ESPN3 broadcast live streaming on Friday and Sunday with limited commentary. They dropped the Friday stream last year but you could still watch Sunday start to finish.
