NMCA All-American Nationals Nostalgia Super Stock Coverage – Where The Legends Live

NMCA All-American Nationals Nostalgia Super Stock Coverage – Where The Legends Live

(Words and photos by Jacob Marshall) – Nostalgia Super Stock racing can be described effectively by three words; old school legends. It’s a land of 427s, wedges, and Hemis. Where bumper dragging wheelies are a standard, and period correct naturally aspirated engines breathe the same ferocious notes that have captivated fans for 60 years.

For those of us like me, who seem to have been born decades too late, it’s as close as we can get to seeing what factory backed Super Stock racing was all about. While Super Stock Mopars held the majority at the NMCA Indy event, there was a vast variety of vintage iron. Including powerful Pontiacs, fire breathing Ford Thunderbolts, and big booty 427 Biscaynes to name but a few. Super Stock racing may be old, but it never gets old. So flip through these pics of gnarly racecars and remember to respect your elders.
