The small block Chevy isn’t dead. No, it’s no longer the most cutting edge or sexy engine platform to talk about but the little mouse motor still has a massive base of parts for it and its capability has not diminished at all. Steve Morris knows this and the engine builder had a customer that wanted a weaponized small block so he created this 372ci beasty that makes 1,022hp on pump gas at 7,500 rpm and 1,143 on race gas with more timing and boost at the same RPM number.

Based off of a Dart block, the heads are in the 227cc range, the blower is a ProCharger F1A94 and it has a solid roller camshaft. What you will notice is that the front of the engine is laid out with the clean blower drive and then nothing on the other side. Why? That’s because Morris will soon be offering an accessory drive system that will accommodate things like a power steering pump, alternator, even an AC compressor!

Steve is calling this his Stage 1 engine so we’re guessing that there’s more hairy versions that could be coming down the pipe at some point. For now, we’ll just watch and smile as this angry Mouse makes four digit horsepower!
