Street Car Takeover Indy Coverage: Massive Crowds and Mechanical Diversity Galore – Great Event!

(Photos by Jacob Marshall) – Yesterday we showed you some Friday night no-prep fun from Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis and today we’re back at the same track but on the next day. Street Car Takeover is a cool series of events that are growing by leaps and bounds because they have easy access, they are designed to make sure everyone has a good time and perhaps most impressively they are open to virtually any sort of hot car or truck you can think of. You’ll see diesels in here, classic muscle, late model muscle, imports, compacts, etc. It is a melting pot of speed and the growth of the event series is because organizers know what people want…to have fun.

Typically these are Friday/Saturday gatherings with Friday being comprised of some sort of an event like a dyno challenge, a cruise, or a massive parking lot gathering of all he racers and fans. There are a multitude of drag racing classes so that everyone has a “home” to run in and the fact is that it certainly helps to draw the cars when people know what class they are going to be running in before they roll through the gate.

Jacob Marshall was our man on the scene and he reports that the event was great, the people were cool,  and everyone was very much into what was going gone. This series has really started packing them in at every venue they visit and that is no mistake. A good thing draws lots of people and this is a GOOD THING!

I’d like to see more of that green Ford Truck. Or the details on that ford festiva.
