RUN! This Video From A Street Race In Belize Is Hilarious Because No One Got Killed – Not Really Smart

Street racing is dumb. We have been over this a billion times. People get hurt, people die, and what’s the end result? Those people who love cars all suffer for the bad publicity, increased police scrutiny, etc. In Belize where there was no dedicated drag strip when this video was shot (there is now more organized drag racing in Belize and while not on strips it is supervised, uses safety rules, and a christmas tree, etc) people were taking it to the streets with whatever they were driving. Here we see a pair of GM trucks getting ready to square off. People line the very narrow street where sugar cane grows tall on both sides.

Thee are a pair of Duramax diesel trucks. They both look like 2500 series 3/4 ton units. We have shown approximately 2.1 million videos over the years of trucks like this suffering tie-rod failures at pulling events and on the drag strip with loads of horsepower. We have never seen one of them fold up a front end on the street but we have now! The truck in the right lane moves about three feet and then goes completely dink-toed.

As this is happening, the driver has no control of the thing and it starts to make tracks to the left side of the road where people are lined up to watch. Those people quickly try to impersonate the baseball players from “Field of Dreams” by running into the crop. Thankfully the driver gets the truck back on the asphalt and doesn’t turn any of the spectators into corpses.

We’re all for having fun but this is one lucky break from being a multiple-death incident. Yikes times the power of 100.
