The American Powertrain Parting Shift: Watch This Buzzing Small Block Camaro Scream To A Win!

The American Powertrain Parting Shift: Watch This Buzzing Small Block Camaro Scream To A Win!

(By Jason Mazzotta) – There is nothing quite like a small block stick car buzzing through the gears at high rpm’s, and this immaculate inside and out ’69 Camaro runs through the gears in this video from the 2014 NHRA New England Hot Rod Reunion in Epping, NH for the round win. Robert Ingles’ gorgeous ’69 Camaro is driven by a high powered 434 small-block Chevy, runs on 9” Goodyears, and rips through five gears at over of 7,000 rpm’s to get into the mid 9 second zone at over 140 mph.

In this video Ingles is running his ’69 Camaro in the NHRA Heritage Hot Rod Series D/Gas class, which is a .400 pro tree, 9.50 index race. After airing it out on the burnout and lining it up in the grove, he stages, puts it to the floor, dumps the clutch at 5500 rpm’s and lets it eat! Getting the jump on his opponent, nailing his shifts north of 7,000 and watching his opponent drive through the stripe way under the 9.50 index, Ingles takes the win! From start to finish this car is killer, it is clean inside and out, has a great stance, and runs ultra smooth into the mid 9 second zone.

  1. Singapore Hot Rod

Sitting at my desk at work getting ready for an intense 5 hour meeting with the bosses. To clear my head I watched this. Loved the end when he celebrated his win! Hopefully I can do the same when the meeting is over!
