The winds kicked up on the Bonneville Salt Flats yesterday afternoon causing SCTA officials to cut the Monday portion of Speed Week off earlier than planned. Runs were halted around 5pm and the racing day was called off at six after the winds had not allowed a vehicle down the salt in an hour or more. While the afternoon ended early, it did not hamper the efforts of racers who had run hard enough to qualify for records during the earlier part of the day. We have nearly two dozen cars and trucks for you below. As we have been doing we’re going to give you all the information that we know about them. It’ll be record run time soon enough!

Oh, and just to make you jealous, Chad and I will be getting blasted with nitromethane vapor on the salt long before sunrise on Wednesday. This is a tough job but someone has got to do it!
