Turbo Terror: Watch This Brazilian Chevy Opala Cruise The Streets And Hit The Dyno With The Angriest Chevy Six Ever

Listen, I know that I am mental but for the life of me I cannot shake an addiction to searching our drag racing and hot car videos from South America. This time rather than hitting the strip via video, we’re cruising the streets and visiting and dyno shop in a truly hairy Chevy Opala. The car is so freaking cool I can hardly stand it, restored to factory perfection on the outside and parking what is legitimately the meanest sounding Chevy six in the history of mankind. Turbocharged and built to the gunwales the engine makes about 500hp at the flywheel and it is at least mildly streetable because we see the thing rolling with traffic and sitting at traffic lights in this video.

The car has Weld wheels on it and they go with the factory trim and paint perfectly. The big n’ littles provide the perfect stance and purposeful look to the car as well. We don’t know what this thing runs in the quarter mile but with the horsepower figures that it throws down, single digits don’t seem out of the realm of reason.

Seeing the Opala in its stock body and factory style paint is cool because there are some design elements that are more prominently seen as opposed to cars that are more purpose built for racing. The back of the thing looks reminiscent of a Corvair, and the diving roofline actually reminded us of a late 1960s Barracuda when viewed at the correct angle. Given the opportunity, we’d import one of these bad boys complete with the Brazilian turbo engine and go confuse people as we blew their doors off.

Ohhhh, this one is also a gear jammer! You’ll see it all in the video below.

Press play below to see this gorgeous Opala cruise the streets and then hit the dyno
