Now THIS is awesome. You are looking at a vintage Devin sports car body sitting on a shortened, narrowed, and lightened 1956 Chevrolet frame. Currently powered by a hotted up 355ci small block Chevy, this car ran at all the great old California drag strips back in the day with a 409 (among other things over the years) making the power. The thing was a legit 11-second performaner and it would likely be a slight handful at that speed. Between the flame job, the interior, the clean little engine, the single roll bar, and the high riding stance, we’re enraptured with this whole program.
The current owner and seller is in the process of making this thing street legal. It still needs stuff like headlights but it’s well on the way. We’re not sure that we love that idea. Not for any other reason that we love the fact that it has always been a race car! It is one thing to take a street car and make a racer out of it. We’re not sure have ever seen a race car turned into a street car that does not look awkward or lose some of its cool factor. Maybe this can be the one.
What do you think? Awesome?
Car is awesome, current owner not so much. I wish he could wait until I win the lottery before damaging the historical coolness of the car.
Needs to show up at Eagle Field in October.
Exactly, the current owner is doing his best to erase the history and devalue the car.
