When we say the words, “golf kart based electric dragster” don’t go making some assumption that what we’re about to show you sucks…because it doesn’t. The vehicle in this video that goes into one of the great instant dead hook power wheelie flips we have ever seen is called “Shock Therapy”. While there is some EZ-Go bodywork on the front and rear, we’re thinking that the only other “stock” part of the gold cart here is the wheelbase. Said wheelbase is 90″ and from our understanding, the team has been working on this car for a while, running different battery and motor combos until hitting on some gold with the current setup.

Powerful and light LiPo batteries provide the power that spins the electric motor. The builder claims that the thing makes 270hp and when you see it make some runs we think that you will agree. When the guy lands on the (not so) loud pedal during the night run, the car doesn’t just go into some gentle wheelie and then gracefully come over. Instead, it went straight up and then all the way over backwards, ultimately landing on the roll cage and skidding to a stop.

This is awesome Urban Hillbilly video of the flip. Sean does a great job at reporting details and says in the video description that the driver (Terry Hatfield) told him that a set of wheelie bars are due on the car as soon as he can get it into a chassis shop to have them squared away. This is truly some awesome video and most likely the first instance of an electric powered anything going into a power wheelie and flip all the way over on the strip. The kooky little car sure has some guts and we look forward to see it running again with the sticky side down!
