Watch This Fourth Generation Camaro Spin A Donut In The Middle Of The Strip And Hit Nothing

Last weekend was a big one in the sport of drag racing. The NHRA had its Gatornationals rocking and rolling, the PDRA was racing at Tulsa Raceway Park, and the third running of the Outlaw Street Car Reunion was also held in Memphis. All three of the races had weather to contend with and in the cases of both Tulsa and Memphis, plummeting temperatures. Gainesville was wet and filled will all kinds of excitement as well. Both Tulsa and Memphis ran into issues well beyond their control and in the interest of safety, the races were ended prematurely. Promoters do not want to see anyone put their stuff at risk unnecessarily and it was the right move on both accounts. All this being said, each event produced some really awesome runs. From the new Pro Mod record in Gainesville to monster numbers from multiple categories in Tulsa, to a 4.03 out of the CrowMod, speed was the name of the game. Close calls were as well, as the driver of the Camaro below is about to find out.

With a cold track and lots of horsepower available, it was a bit of a tricky business for racers to figure the best way down the prepared surface. It is a damned hard task to get a multi thousand horsepower radial tire car down the track on the best day let alone one that has your teeth chattering in the staging lanes. The Camaro in this video comes off the starting line and then spins the tires. Instead of tracking straight the car pitches sideways and goes into a flat spin right across the centerline of the Memphis strip. Thankfully the other car was long gone and hard to find when this was happening but the best part is that the car did not hit a damned thing.

The racer commented on the YouTube video and said that they had removed a bunch of weight from the car and had softened the tuneup in a move they hoped would get the car down the track. Instead, when the second kit came on the theatrics began. Dude doesn’t even touch a timing block!

  1. Hot Rod

The last time I spin like that I was going about 140 MPH and tagged the guard rails on both sides 4 times a piece.
