2018 Pumpkin Run Nationals Gallery: Wagons, Convertibles, Fords Mopars and Chevys!

2018 Pumpkin Run Nationals Gallery: Wagons, Convertibles, Fords Mopars and Chevys!

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – I’m told in the track area of the fairgrounds several informal paddocks exist consisting of like vehicles.  There’s a Mopar section, Torino Section, Camaro section, and so on.  Sorry, we only made it to one of those, but that’s because the Falcon/Comet group parked together outside the track.  Some of that group can be seen in this collection of convertibles, four-doors, and wagons.

Lots of cars in here we really dig.  I may have seen more ’60 Chevrolet B-bodies here than at any other event I’ve ever been to.  The silver Buick Sport wagon is a favorite.  We see a lot fewer of these than we do Olds Vista Cruisers.  The orange on white ’69 Camaro SS looked farm fresh and ready to cruise.  Not exactly sure why most folks like the look of these cars, but I am one of them.

We meet a lot of cool folks and at this event we sat and talked with the couple that own this black, ’58 Corvette out of Grand Rapids, MI.  It’s a real R-code fuelie that no longer has the original powerplant.  It’s been in the family for years and they drive it everywhere.  They have ties to the Cincinnati area and even have family involved in the origins of this event.  We’re hoping to run into them again in the future because we enjoyed hearing their awesome gearhead stories.

We’ve seen some tri-5 four doors converted to two-door hard tops and sedans.  To each their own, but we’d definitely rock a more door like this two-tone ’56 Chevy.  It’s a classic ride that you can throw the whole family in for an adventure with comfort and style.  We definitely do not look down upon cars with an extra set of doors.

Hope you enjoyed these and visit again for more coverage of the Pumpkin Run Nationals.
