2018 Pumpkin Run Nationals Photo Coverage: More Great Cars and Parts From This 40 Year Old Event

2018 Pumpkin Run Nationals Photo Coverage: More Great Cars and Parts From This 40 Year Old Event

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – So I’m back to attempting some categorizing of photos.  For this particular event it seemed to make the most sense because there was so much variety.  I’ll fail at getting this right, but I figure ‘why not’.

2018 marks the 43rd edition of this event put on by the Fastiques car club.  All vehicles up through 1974 are allowed.  This event raises a large sum for a lot of local charities and we really try to support these kinds of events.  They have donated over $1,000,000 to the Shriners Children’s Hospital of Cincinnati over the years.  The event draws an average of nearly 3,000 vehicles and every participant receives a ticket to win the top giveaway prize which this year was a nearly complete ’32 Ford 3-window coupe.  They also do a 50/50 and on Saturday the pot eclipsed $20,000.00.  Wow, this is cool stuff.

The venue is massive and at its center is a harness racing track with grandstand.  The infield and track are packed with cars.  Sadly, we did not make it into that area during our time there.  Next year we plan to attend at least two days and may stretch that to all three.  The quality and size of this event is, in my opinion, second only to the NSRA Street Rod Nationals in Louisville (averages 10,000 cars).

In this gallery we have sleds, bugs, tri-5s, and a whole bunch of other stuff I decided to label ‘classic’.

Enjoy these and check back for more soon.
