Ain’t Nothin’ Stinkin’ About This 1969 Lincoln Continental – Blown Mod Motor Under The Hood!

Ain’t Nothin’ Stinkin’ About This 1969 Lincoln Continental – Blown Mod Motor Under The Hood!

Automotive design evolution is a pretty interesting thing. Normally the way it works is that by the time a generation of a car is at its end, the original versions of it look kind of dowdy and clumsy but in the case of this 1969 Lincoln Continental we think the opposite is the case. This is a nice clean car and it is completely stock as it pertains to the physical shape of the machine. The chrome is there, the vinyl roof is there, the bumpers, the grill, all of it. In the case of this 1969 model, it’s all great looking. By the time these cars has evolved through the middle 1970s the lines were all exaggerated, the bumpers were huge, and they were just porcine, ugly, slow barges. These things actually got worse with age.

This car is also good because of the engine. No, it has not been LS swapped. The Lincoln is powered by a mod motor that has been bumped in power by a Novi centrifugal blower. Rated at over 400hp and more than 400 lb-ft of torque, it’ll hustle this really heavy car right on down the line with enough alarm to keep everyone happy. It is weird how the Coyote motor has completely and utterly overshadowed the modular family of engines. Like the Coyote engines, the modular engines LOVE boost.

The stance and ride height of the car is right on to us. It tucks a shade of tire up front and a little more out back as the wheel arches are different heights. Some may hate on the wheels, but they fill up and otherwise large space and we’re on board. We also like how the exhaust is tucked up to tight under the rear quarters that it almost looks like a piece of trim.

This looks to us like a nicely finished car and it is something different. Not tons of these things out and about, especially looking like this one.

    Gnnnnnnnnnnghhhh!

Excuse me while I change my underwear and wipe the tears of joy off my face when I realised there wasn’t an LS under its hood.

    Awesome!

Outstanding! Good taste is still alive and well! Not slammed, not wearing a set of clown wheels with rubber band tires, not a bunch of gaudy chrome under the hood. Really nice build on a timeless body style.

That looks crazy nice – and probably cost a lot more than the asking price to build. I need a couple of co-signers….
